Big deal people! How self-righteous everyone has become! I find it hard to believe how easily people can turn on someone just because they seemed to have a charmed life or a nice house or more money than the rest of us. I see comments in the ADN like "they're living in a mansion and I'm just getting old"....hmmmmm..Why do you suppose that is?
Have you ever made mistakes in judgement or done anything wrong at all in your life? Aren't you glad no one was looking or paying attention! Maybe Carl Marrs is not the most popular person right now, but I remember when he ran CIRI and he alone distributed some of the wealth of CIRI to his fellow shareholders in a way that made a positive impact on many lives. He has always been supportive of his people, but he did so "successfully" by learning how to play the game of politics and big business that had already been in place for a very long time. That's just the way it is and we all had a hand in creating and nurturing it.
I am not rich either. I live paycheck to paycheck like a whole lot of other people, but I don't blame Carl, Ben, Tony, Ted, Bill, or anyone else for that. I don't envy what they have because I am the only one responsible for my own station in life - period and if they had the wherewithall to live their lives the way they did, kudos to them! It is possible to change things without starting a massive witch hunt, but boy - when we do it, we do it big. Nothing good comes of that.
